Walter Parham Ready for Next Challenge as Fighting Cacti AD
Walter Parham arrived to Copper Mountain during the programs inception back in 2017 as a volunteer assistant coach. Within five short years he is now the Athletic Director and Head Men's Basketball Coach. His student first, work in the dark mentality has served the former residential treatment facility director well. When asked about his new position Athletic Director Parham was quick to give credit to all involved; " I would not be here if not for the coaches, athletic directors and student athletes who believed in me and supported me through this journey." Although Parham has lead the men's basketball program to top 20 rankings every year since 2018, he knows this challenge will be different. " I look forward to the challenge of creating a competitive athletic program where all student athletes are valued, mentored and given the proper resources to be successful in their journey." Copper Mountain currently also has Women's Volleyball and Women's Basketball, both compete in the tough Inland Empire Athletic Conference.
The Copper Mountain Community is extremely excited to see what this new era of athletics will bring. One thing is for certain, Parham will embrace all the hurdles in front of him like he has always done, with a smile, work ethic and quiet confidence to be successful.
