Copper Mountain Men's basketball team hosted San Bernardino Valley college on Wednesday night. If you were not in attendance, you missed a classic.

This would be the third time these two teams had met this season, and the wolverines have gotten the better of CMC in the first two contest. With the Fighting Cacti badly needing this win, hanging on to hopes of potentially making the playoffs, the stage was set.

In the first half those in attendance witnessed some high level basketball. Both teams competed and gave each other their best shot. Going into halftime San Bernardino held the slight edge 31-29.

It would be a game of chess in the second half as both teams executed play after play, exchanging the lead several times. Will Valsien and Tyler Hudson provided a steady attack for the Cacti which ultimately gave CMC the edge.

Tremendous plays down the stretch from Sophomores Zack Kroker and Schenider Casseus would seal the deal for Copper Mountain as they would pull away for the win 78-68.

Will Valsien led all scorers with 23 points. Tyler Hudson followed suit with 22 points and 5 assist of his own, and Hyking Brisbon would have another double double with 17 points and 17 Rebounds.

CMC will travel to Victor Valley College Saturday afternoon to see if they can build off Wednesday's big win. Tip-off is at 3pm.
