Women's Basketball Poised To Build on Successful 18-19 Campaign

Copper Mountain College Women's Basketball team was viewed as a viable threat to opponents last year in their second year as a program. With 2018-19 signature wins against Riverside CC and Eastern Arizona (4th ranked in the state), the Cacti know they will get the best out of their opponents every night. The ladies are ready for the challenge and look forward to building on the successes of the previous year.

Lelisa Watson (Page HS, Page AZ) is back off of a freshman campaign that saw her total 17.3 points per game, 7.4 rebounds per game, and 4.3 assists per game. This effort was recognized by a second team all Orange Empire Conference selection. She will continue to be a solid contributer for the 2019-20 team. Adrianna "AD" Delgado (San Jacinto HS, San Jacinto, CA) will also be looked upon to assist with the scoring. In her last 8 games AD averaged 12 points per game including an 18 point effort in the Cacti's upset win over RCC in the final game of the season. She is an athletic guard who gives opposing guards a fit on the defensive end.

Niy'Asia Julienne (Tahquitz HS, Hemet, CA) will return off an injury plagued season. She will return from a torn ACL early in the season and will add fire power from deep for the Cacti. Newcomers Kearra Tauta (Kingman HS, Kingman, AZ), Gina Anton (Lanai HS, Lanai City, HI), Angelica Enrique (Chapin HS, El Paso, TX), an Alissa Shepherd (Tahquitz HS, Yuma, AZ) and returners Patricia Muao and Brianna Nieves (Crenshaw HS, Compton, CA) will all play valuable minutes and look to be big assests for the the Lady Cacti.

The women's team will open up the regualr season with three games in the Santa Barbara City College Tournament November 1-3.
