Copper Mountain College is excited to announce the hiring of the their new Fighting Cacti Women's Volleyall Coach, Donald Reyes.  Donald Reyes is a highly experienced and dedicated volleyball coach with a passion for developing young athletes both on and off the court. He played in high school, club and college. With over two decades of coaching experience, Donald has made a significant impact at both the club and high school levels.

Throughout his coaching career, Donald has been a dedicated mentor and motivator, inspiring athletes and coaches from diverse backgrounds to achieve their personal and team goals. He is known for his ability to foster a positive and supportive team culture while pushing his players to reach their full potential.

As the Head Volleyball Coach for Temecula Preparatory School, Donald led his teams to an impressive 7 League Championships, 4 CIF-SS Semi-Finals Appearances, and 1 CIF-SS Championship, accumulating an outstanding record of 241 wins. His leadership and coaching prowess have earned him numerous accolades, including 6 Time League Coach of the Year, 2023 CIF D8 Coach of the Year, and 2023 Inland Empire Coach of the Year.

Since 2016, Donald has served as a Head Coach at Forza1 Volleyball Club in Winchester, CA, where he has coached high school-aged boys and girls across various levels, from Local to Elite and National. In this role, he has not only focused on refining players' skills but has also prioritized fostering a positive team culture and ensuring the satisfaction of parents involved in the club.

Prior to his tenure at Temecula Prep and Forza1, Donald served as the Head Coach for Boys Varsity and JV teams at St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, CA, from 1994 to 2000. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in managing all aspects of the volleyball program, including operations, team travel, equipment, coaching, scheduling, and budgets. Donald's dedication to his players extended beyond the court as he assisted in their academic and athletic development, guiding over 15 student-athletes through the college recruitment process and maintaining authentic relationships with players long after their graduation.

Throughout his coaching career, Donald has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a genuine desire to support and mentor young athletes. He places a strong emphasis on academic success and has diligently monitored each player's academic progress to ensure their overall well-being and success. His ability to build rapport with players, assistant coaches, and parents alike has been instrumental in creating a successful and thriving volleyball program at Copper Mountain College.

In addition to his coaching achievements, Donald earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of La Verne in 1995. Donald went back to school in 2008 and obtained his MBA from the University of Redlands, solidifying his expertise in organizational leadership and strategic management.

Donald's unwavering dedication to excellence, coupled with his extensive experience and educational background, makes him a respected figure in the volleyball community. He continues to inspire and empower the next generation of athletes to reach new heights both on and off the volleyball court.--
