CMC Women's Volleyball loses tough IEAC match
Copper Mountain College's (CMC) women's volleyball team faced a tough matchup against College of the Desert on Tuesday night, losing in straight sets 3-0. Despite their efforts, the Fighting Cacti struggled to find their rhythm against a determined Roadrunners squad.
The first set saw CMC put up a strong fight, staying within striking distance early on. However, College of the Desert capitalized on key errors and powerful serves, pulling away to take the set.
In the second set, CMC couldn't match the intensity of their opponents, falling behind early as College of the Desert's aggressive net play and cohesive defense dominated the pace. The Roadrunners maintained control throughout the set, cruising to a victory.
The third set proved to be the most competitive, with Copper Mountain fighting back and showing resilience. Strong effort from the Cacti hitters kept them in the match, but ultimately, College of the Desert secured the set and match with a win.
While it was a tough night for Copper Mountain College, Coach Don Reyes remains optimistic about the team's potential. "We had some bright moments tonight, especially in the third set where we pushed back and made adjustments. We know what we need to work on moving forward," said Coach Reyes.
Copper Mountain College will look to bounce back in their next match against Victor Valley College. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team as they continue their season.
